Something in the air
Something in the air combines several of my concerns, walking, music, typography and the city. Something in the air, it is primarily a printing constructive module build on the A4 sheet. Two sentences compose the project: «Singing in the Rain» & «Right Here Right Now.» One is extracted of a standard musical comedy of the 50s, the other is another standard but from electronic music of the 1990s. Singing in the Rain, is the postwar period where the dream has established productivist, joy in consumption and the foundations of society of the spectacle. Right Here Right Now is the end of the twentieth century and a hymn to the present. I'm interested in these two sentences for their evocative power as an injunction.The sentences will be «cut» and implemented across a street, neighborhood, or city, so that intervention is read at random «RIGHT» HERE «RIGHT «NOW»- «SINGING» IN «» THE «RAIN».

Something in the air rassemble plusieurs de mes préoccupations, la marche, la musique, la typographie et la ville. Something in the air, c'est d'abord une typographie contruite sur le module constructif de la feuille A4. Deux phrases composent le projet : «Singing in the rain» & «Right Here right now». L'une issue d'un standard de la comédie musicale des années 50, l'autre d'un autre standard de la musique électronique des années 1990. Singing in the rain, c'est l'après guerre, la période où le rêve productiviste s'est mis en place, la joie dans la consommation et les fondements de la société du spectacle. Right Here Right Now, c'est la fin du XXe siècle et un hymne au présent. Ces deux phrases m'intéressent pour leur pouvoir évocateur, voire d'injonction.
Les phrases seront «découpées» et mises en œuvre à l'échelle d'une rue, d'un quartier, ou de la ville, de sorte que l'intervention se lise au hasard d'une déambulation «RIGHT» «HERE» «RIGHT» «NOW» - «SINGING» «IN» «THE» «RAIN».
